Left Over Work in Istanbul / Tünel − Beyoğlu

Artıkişler Kolektifi shoots a documentary around a trash pile in İstiklal Caddesi. A garbage truck bearing the logo of the municipality arrives at the scene. Soon the stack of trash is destroyed by the truck. However, before that, some people come by and pick out some stuff from the pile on the street.

A boy, who could be working in a restaurant near the area, sits down next to the documentary making team. He is talking on his mobile phone. There is apparently an arrest warrant on him, his aim is to try and find out why. Meanwhile, the last pile of garbage melts completely and dustbin lorry moves to Galatasaray Square through Tünel.

Artıkişler Kolektifi İstiklal Caddesi’nde, Suriye Pasajı yakınlarında bir çöp birikintisini çekiyor. Belediyeye ait bir çöp aracı gelip bütün çöpü toplayıp öğütmeden önce, yoldan geçelenler yığından işlerine yarıyacak birkaç şeyi seçiyor.

Belki bir lokantada çalışan bir genç, belgesel ekibinin yanında cep telefonuyla konuşuyor. Belli ki, hakkında çıkmış bir tutuklama emri var. Telefonda bunun nereden kaynaklandığını anlamaya ve hata olduğunu anlatmaya çalışıyor. Bu arada çöp aracı Tünel’den Galatasaray’a doğru giderken, son çöpler de öğütülüyor..
